Ecstatic Dance is a freeform movement in a nonverbal space. There are no instructions expressed upon entry onto the dance floor, but there are a list of guidelines relating to consent and respect of others, oneSelf and the space that are to be read before entering. You can choose to dance alone, with another or both. The music mixed by a DJ and it creates a Shamanic Journey where the sequence of songs takes one through all life stages as the rhythmns ebb and flow. The closing ceremony includes a meditation, where everyone sits in a circle and there is an opportunity to reflect, share insights and personal experiences. The purpose of Ecstatic Dance is to heal through movement and music in whatever form that takes for each individual.

Anyone and everyone. This space is all inclusive of those of all ages, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, backgrounds, etc. Ecstatic Dance usually takes about 2 hours and does involve dancing so it is up to each individual to discern whether they are physically capable or needs to take breaks throughout the experience. At any point, you are welcome to take a break and listen to your body.

There are no words to encapsulate the transformation, release of emotion and growth that Ecstatic Dance provides. If you are willing to get out of your comfort zone, connect with yourSelf and others through authentic expression and movement while being carried by the sounds of the music, this experience is the one for you. Even if you are merely curious, Ecstatic Dance allows one to heal in ways unique to each individual and there is no preparation needed-simply dive in and show up and hopefully the community and experience catalyzes something new to emerge from within.
